ALL-AMERICAN JUNIOR SHEEP SHOW

Great news for Romney junior breeders! ARBA has committed to the participation in the All-American Junior Sheep Show for the next two years. This year the show will be in East Lansing, MI on July 2nd – 4th, 2010. Next year will be in Harrington, DE on July 1st – 3rd, 2011.

The All-American Junior Sheep Show is the premier junior sheep show in the country. Last year there were 345 exhibitors and 1900 head of sheep. If you have never attended this show please makes plans to attend this very special event. It is much more than just a sheep show with several events for the whole family. Efforts are put forth to make this an unforgettable weekend with the family. The show includes a lamb camp for the young sheep owners, a 3-on-3 basketball tournament, a sheep skill-a-thon, a sheep judging contest, and much more. Last year 13 breeds were represented by 23 different states. I am very happy to report that Romneys will be included in this years breed count. My personal goal is for 30 – 40 head and 5 to 8 exhibitors, but would like to challenge our youth to surpass this goal! For further information, you can go their web site www.allamericanjuniorshow.com .

Please watch for more details as they develop. This show doesn’t come cheap but our youth are worth all of our efforts. Please feel free to donate on your own or to open your heart (and purse) when you receive that inevitable phone call. Checks can be made out to ARBA and sent either to Christiane Payton in the office or to myself, Charlene Carlisle, and I can forward them to the office in a group mailing. Please make a notation that they are for the All-American Jr Sheep Show.
